Editing a product

2.	On the top menu, click Review Vendor Products under Merchandise. The Review Vendor Products page is displayed listing all the vendor products in the storefront.

3.	Click Manage on the product you want to edit. The Product Details page is displayed.

4.	To edit the product information, click on the Product Info. tab and then click on Edit Information. The Edit Product page is displayed.

•	Product Name: Enter a name for the product. For example: "Ipod Nano".

•	Product Number: Enter your internal product number for this item. This product number identifies a product across all locales.

•	SKU or Part#: Enter a valid SKU (SKU or Stock Keeping Unit is a unique identification number for this product). If not applicable to your product then enter the product number instead.

•	Short Description: Enter an optional short description for the product. This will be displayed in the product listing grid. The description should be less than 100 characters.

•	Long Description: Enter a detailed description for the product in this Rich Text Box.

•	Shipping Description: Enter shipping description for the product in this Rich Text Box.

•	Affiliate URL: If you want to allow customers to buy this product from a different web site enter the URL here.

•	Departments: Select one or more departments to display your product in.

•	Product Image: Select Keep Current Image to retain this product image.

To change the product image, select Upload New Image. Select an Image field is displayed. Click Browse to choose an image to upload. The Choose file dialog box opens. Choose a location and enter the filename of the product image to upload. Click Open. The location of the image is now displayed next to the Browse button.

Note: Only JPG, GIF and PNG images are supported. Make sure your image is 1.5 Mb in size or less.

•	Update inventory for your Product: Enter the current inventory level for this product.

•	Out of Stock Options: Select how an out of stock product affects the shopping cart from the three options listed in this section.

•	Out of Stock Message: Enter a custom message to be displayed if this product is out of stock. If left blank, then "Out of Stock" will be displayed.

Alternate Images allow you to provide alternate views of your product. Swatches show the different colors your products come in. These images are in addition to the default product picture that is set in the Add Product page. This feature is very useful for showing your product in different colors or from different angles.

Alternate Images and Swatches are displayed on the Product Details page as thumbnails. When your customer clicks on a thumbnail the larger version of alternate product image is displayed in a pop-up window.

To add alternate images of the product, click on the Alt. Images tab and then click on Add New Alternate Image. The Add Product Image page is displayed.

•	Title: Enter the title to be displayed for this product image. Leave blank for no title.

•	Product Image: To upload the product image, click Browse. The Choose file dialog box opens. Choose a location and enter the filename of the new product image to upload. Click Open. The location of the image is now displayed next to the Browse button.

Note: Only JPG, GIF and PNG images are supported. Make sure your image is 1.5 Mb in size or less. The image will be automatically scaled to display correctly on the storefront.

•	Product Image ALT Text: Enter a short descriptive text for this product to be used in the image ALT text. This text is displayed if the image does not download correctly.

•	Display on Product Page: Select to show a thumbnail of this image on the Product Page.

•	Display on Department Page: Select to show a thumbnail of this image on the Department Page.

•	Display Order: Enter a number. This determines the order in which the product images will be displayed in the storefront.

Click Submit. The Product Detail page is displayed with the newly added images listed under the Alternate Images tab.

Note: To delete an alternate image, click Delete on the alternate image you want to delete from those listed under the Alternate Images tab.

To add swatches of the product, click on the Alt. Images tab and then click on Add New Swatch Image. The Add Product Image page is displayed.

•	Title: Enter the title to be displayed for this product image. Leave blank for no title.

•	Swatch Image: To upload the product image, click Browse. The Choose file dialog box opens. Choose a location and enter the filename of the new product image to upload. Click Open. The location of the image is now displayed next to the Browse button.

•	Display on Product Page: Select to show a thumbnail of this image on the Product Page.

Click Submit. The Product Detail page is displayed with the newly added images listed under the Alternate Images tab.

Note: To delete an alternate image, click Delete on the alternate image you want to delete from those listed under the Alternate Images tab.

6.	To associate product add-ons to this product, click on the Add-Ons tab and then click on Add a Add-On to this Product. The Add a Product Add-Ons page is displayed.

•	Enter any or all of the following keywords under Add-Ons Search: Name, Title, SKU or Product#.

•	Click Search. All products meeting the above search criteria will be displayed under Add-On List.

•	Select those add-ons you want to associate with this product, from the Add-On list.

Click Add Selected Items. The Product Detail page is displayed with the newly added add-ons listed in the Add-Ons tab.

Note: To delete a product add-on association, click Remove on the product add-on you want to delete from those listed under the Add-Ons tab. A pop-up window asks you to confirm the delete operation. Click OK to delete. The Product Detail page is displayed with the deleted added add-on removed from the list in the Add-Ons tab.

7.	To associate a tag to this product, click on the Tagging tab and then click on Edit Tagging. The Tag Products section is displayed.

•	Click Submit. The newly associated tag is listed under the Associated Tags section.

•	Repeat the above steps till all the tags for this product are associated to it.

To edit/delete a product tag association: click Edit Tagging and select/de-select the tags that are associated to this product.

Cross Sell allow you to cross sell other related products. On the Product page your customers will see a list of all the related items that you have selected for that product. As an example, say you sell a portable CD player. On the Product page for this CD player you can put a direct link to rechargeable batteries and headphones.

To add cross sell items for this product, click on the Cross Sell tab and then click on Add Cross Sell Items. The Add a Related Item page is displayed.

•	Enter any or all of the following keywords under Search Products: Product Name, Product Number, SKU, Catalog, Product Department.

•	Click Search. All products meeting the above search criteria will be displayed under Product List.

•	Select related product to add: Select the related items from the products displayed under Product List.

•	Click Submit. The Product Detail page is displayed with the newly added related items listed under the Cross Sell tab.

Note: To delete a related item, click Remove on the related item you want to delete from those listed under the Cross Sell tab.

9.	To enter search engine optimization information, click on the Marketing tab and then click on Edit Information. The Edit Marketing Info page is displayed.

•	Display Weighting: Enter a number. This determines the order in which the product will be displayed in the multifront. A product with the lower display order will be displayed first.

•	Show on Home Page: Select to have this product show on home page as a featured product.

•	Featured Item Icon: Select to overlay a “Featured Item” icon on this product.

•	New Item Icon: Select to overlay a “New Item” icon on this product.

•	Search Engine Title: Enter a title. Leave this section blank if unsure.

•	Search Engine Keywords: Enter comma separated keywords. Leave this section blank if unsure.

•	Search Engine Description: Enter a description. Leave this section blank if unsure.

Click Submit. The Product Detail page is displayed with the newly added information listed in the Marketing tab.

10.	For a preview of this product, click on the Preview tab. The product details and image will be displayed in the Preview tab.
